Alice Morey is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sculpture, installation, painting, and performance. Her work explores themes of ecology, tradition, digital technologies, and their interplay with contemporary identities. With a focus on material sensitivity, her creations often incorporate organic and industrial materials, engaging with ideas of contamination, care, and the lifecycle of objects. Her process is deeply intuitive, involving handmade elements, bacterial growth, and pigments sourced from her travels. This approach reflects her interest in natural cycles, rituals, and the intersection of life and death. Morey’s performances often foster audience participation, emphasising improvisation and collective experiences to challenge perceptions of control and agency. Morey has showcased her work in numerous exhibitions and residencies internationally, including the Camden Arts Centre in London, where she was the family artist in resident, leading community-oriented workshops, BLANK 100 x Craveiral, in Portugal and AIR Imagine 5 , in the South of France. She is co-founder of a community-led site specific residency, 'Countdown Grabowsee', set on the grounds of Heilstätte Grabowsee, on the outskirts of Berlin. Her projects often serve as spaces to question societal norms and foster dialogues on environmental and social issues.
